Petoskey Advisor Rochelle Roerig: Bond Complaint

PNC Investments financial advisor Rochelle Roerig (CRD# 4049700) recently received an investor complaint that reached a five-figure settlement. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that she is a broker and an investment advisor based in Petoskey, Michigan.

Ms. Roerig’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in June 2022, it alleges that as a representative of PNC Investments, she recommended a customer make a corporate bond purchase that was “inconsistent with his direction.” In July 2022 the complaint reached a settlement of $64,802.99.

FINRA Rule 2010 requires that persons associated with FINRA “observe high standards of commercial honor and just and equitable principles of trade.” Many forms of unethical conduct, such as failure to follow a customer’s directions, constitute violations of FINRA Rule 2010, provided the activities occur “in the conduct of [the member’s] business.” FINRA Rule 2111, similarly, states that brokers must “have a reasonable basis to believe that a recommended transaction or investment strategy involving a security or securities is suitable for the customer, based on the information obtained through the reasonable diligence of the member or associated person to ascertain the customer’s investment profile.” More information on these rules is available via FINRA.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Rochelle Roerig holds 22 years of securities industry experience. Based in Petoskey, Michigan, she has been a broker and an investment advisor with PNC Investments since 2009. She is also registered with the firm’s offices in Traverse City and Cheboygan, Michigan. Her past registrations include NatCity Investments (Petoskey, Michigan; 2003-2009) and the Huntington Investment Company (1999-2003). Her credentials include the passage of five securities industry qualifying exams: the Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Representative Examination, or Series 6; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63; and the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination, or Series 65. She is licensed in Arizona, California, Florida, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Virginia. (Information current as of September 30, 2022.)
