Darcy Wolfe: New Investor Complaint Against Edward Jones Advisor

A pending investor complaint against Carlsbad, California stockbroker Darcy Wolfe (CRD# 6285149) alleges that her recommendations resulted in losses. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that Ms. Wolfe, also known as Darcy Irwin, is a representative of Edward Jones.

Filed in March 2022, the investor complaint listed on Ms. Wolfe’s BrokerCheck report alleges that as a representative of Edward Jones, she “recommended higher risk investments, resulting in market loss.” The pending complaint alleges unspecified damages of at least $5,000.

For reference, FINRA rules mandate that brokers-dealers and their representatives must follow the suitability standard, which requires that they only recommend their customers invest in products that are considered suitable for their individual investment profiles. This includes such factors as investment goals, investment experience, age, net worth, liquidity needs, income, and risk tolerance. The suitability standard is distinct from the fiduciary standard followed by investment advisers, which requires placing the investor’s interests above the adviser’s.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Darcy Wolfe holds eight years of securities industry experience. She has been affiliated with Edward Jones as a broker and an investment advisor since 2014. She has no prior registrations. Her qualifications include the passage of three securities industry qualifying exams: the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; and the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7. She holds 28 state licenses, including in Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Kentucky, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, and Washington. (Information current as of May 13, 2022.)
