$1.5 Million Complaint Against White Plains Advisor Chris Kazan

National Securities broker Chris Kazan (CRD# 2966876) has received an investor complaint alleging seven-figure damages. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that the White Plains, New York representative was fired from his previous position at Maxim Group over allegations of policy violations.

Mr. Kazan’s BrokerCheck report discloses several investor complaints. The most recent, filed in April 2022, alleges that as a representative of National Securities Corporation, he recommended an unsuitable private placement and failed to disclose commissions. The pending complaint alleges damages of $1.5 million. 

A second investor complaint, filed in 2015, alleged that as a representative of Maxim Group, Mr. Kazan recommended unsuitable securities from October 2012 until August 2015. The complaint reached a settlement of $85,000.

A third complaint, filed in 2004, alleged that he failed to execute a purchase order as a Maxim Group representative. The complaint reached a settlement of $9,000.

Mr. Kazan’s BrokerCheck report additionally discloses his 2015 firing from Maxim Group. According to the disclosure, he was “Terminated due to allegations made by a customer regarding unsuitable transactions.” 

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Chris Kazan holds 23 years of securities industry experience. Based in White Plains, New York, he has been a broker with National Securities since 2015. His past registrations include Maxim Group (New York City; 2002-2015), Investec Ernst & Company (New York City; 2001-2002), Ladenburg Thalmann & Co. (New York City; 2000-2001), Prime Charter (New York City; 1999-2000), and Sands Brother & Co. (New York City; 1998-1999). His credentials include the passage of five securities industry qualifying exams: the General Securities Principal Examination, or Series 24; the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination, or Series 65; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63; and Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE. He is licensed in California, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Rhode Island, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
