Investor Files Complaint About Scottsdale Advisor Bryson Fisher

Bryson Fisher (CRD# 5676494), a financial advisor with Vanguard Marketing Corporation and Vanguard Advisers, is the recipient of a recent investor complaint. Records provided by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, which oversees its member broker-dealer firms, show that he is a broker and an investment advisor based in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Information about the complaint against Bryson Fisher is available on his BrokerCheck report, a record maintained by FINRA. Filed in October 2022, the complaint alleges that as a representative of Vanguard Advisers, he failed to follow the client’s “stated investment goals of very conservative with limited downside,” incurring a loss. The pending complaint alleges damages of $465,000.

Investors should be aware of FINRA Rule 2111, which requires brokers to perform “reasonable diligence” on the investments they recommend to their clients in order to ensure that the products are suitable. Suitability refers to an investment’s appropriateness for the customer’s background and objectives: for instance, a risky and illiquid investment would likely be considered unsuitable for a client with conservative goal focused on preservation and growth. Brokers must ensure that the recommendation is at least suitable for some investors; that it is suitable for the customer to whom they are recommending it; and that, if they are recommending a series of transactions to a customer over whose account they have actual or de facto control, these transactions are suitable when taken together and when viewed in isolation. Brokers who recommend unsuitable investments may be held liable for damages in the event of losses.

Bryson Fisher holds 13 years of securities industry experience, according to his FINRA-maintained BrokerCheck report. He has been a broker with Vanguard Marketing Corporation and an investment advisor with Vanguard Advisers since December 2020. He is based with the firm’s office in Scottsdale, Arizona, which he joined after registrations with USAA Investment Services, USAA Financial Advisors, and AXA Advisors. Having passed three securities industry qualifying exams, he is currently registered in Arizona and Texas. (Information current as of November 10, 2022.)
