A recent investor complaint against Lenexa, Kansas financial advisor James Blalock (CRD# 7385122) alleges theft from a customer’s account. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with LPL Financial, doing business as Commerce Financial Advisors.
Mr. Blalock’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in May 2026, it alleges theft. The pending complaint alleges unspecified damages.
Commerce Financial Advisors’ website includes a page describing the firm’s approach to working with its clients, including understanding their financial pictures, identifying personal goals, and offering customized investment and insurance strategies. “For over 35 years, Commerce Financial Advisors has been committed to working with clients to help them realize their dreams and reach their financial goals,” it explains. “Our network of registered Financial Advisors provides a local specialist who works with you to create personalized investment and insurance strategies that meet your specific needs.”
Elsewhere, the website includes a profile of Mr. Blalock that describes his experience and services as an assistant vice president and financial advisor at the firm. “James joined Commerce Financial Advisors in 2021 to help clients define their financial goals, develop a strategy to make them a reality, and measure their progress along the way,” it explains. “He has years of experience helping clients take a holistic approach to their financial life. James assists clients with investment management, retirement planning, and insurance strategies.”
According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, James Blalock holds three years of securities industry experience. Based in Lenexa, Kansas, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with LPL Financial since 2023, doing business as Commerce Financial Advisors. He was previously registered with Commerce Brokerage Services in Shawnee, Kansas. His credentials include the passage of three securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7TO; and the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66.
