Brian Cantel: BFC Advisor Named in Inspired Healthcare Filing

A recent investor complaint against Flowery Branch, Georgia financial advisor Brian Cantel (CRD# 1743229) alleges that his advice resulted in 7-figure damages. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Berthel Fisher & Company, doing business as Cantel Wealth Management.

In addition, Mr. Cantel’s name is listed on a Form D document for Inspired Healthcare Capital, a senior living development company that recently filed for bankruptcy. As InvestmentNews reports, the company sold private placement offerings and alternative investments “through a network of independent contractor broker-dealers,” reportedly receiving “more than $100 million in fees and commissions” for investments that later stopped issuing distributions to investors.

Mr. Cantel’s BrokerCheck report discloses three investor complaints. The most recent, filed in 2025, alleges that as a representative of Berthel Fisher & Company, he misrepresented and recommended unsuitable investments between 2015 and 2022. The pending complaint alleges damages of $1.5 million.

In a statement included with the disclosure, Mr. Cantel defended himself against the allegations. “The representative denies the allegations and believes the investments he recommended to the clients were suitable and that he disclosed the risks of the investments,” he wrote. “The clients signed numerous forms acknowledging their understanding of the risks of the investments.”

An earlier investor complaint, filed in 2022, alleged that as a representative of Berthel Fisher, he misrepresented and recommended unsuitably risky investments that resulted in an over-concentration in the accounts. In 2024 the complaint reached a settlement of $56,000.

A third investor complaint, filed in March 2021, alleged that he made unsuitable recommendations. In April 2021 the complaint reached a settlement of $10,000.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Brian Cantel holds 38 years of securities industry experience. Based in Flowery Park, Georgia, he has been a broker and an investment advisor with Berthel Fisher & Company since 2006, doing business as Cantel Wealth Management. His registration history includes BFC Planning, ING Financial Partners, Locust Street Securities, and Fidelity Equity Services Corporation. He is licensed in Arizona, Florida, and Georgia. (Information current as of March 19, 2026.)
