Wilmington, Delaware financial advisor Dan Holzer (CRD# 5779187) has received multiple investor complaints alleging that his conduct resulted in damages. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker with Realta Equities and an investment advisor with Realta Investment Advisors.
Mr. Holzer’s BrokerCheck report discloses two investor complaints. The most recent, filed in March 2026, alleges that as a representative of Realta Equities, he recommended unsuitable alternative investments. The pending complaint alleges damages between $500,000 and $1 million.
An earlier investor complaint, filed in 2024, alleged that as a representative of Emerson Equity, he made unsuitable investment recommendations, misrepresented and omitted material facts, violated FINRA Rule 2020 and 2010, breached his fiduciary duty, and violated FINRA Rule 2310. In October 2025 the complaint reached a settlement of $100,000.
FINRA Rule 2010 stipulates that FINRA-associated persons must “observe high standards of commercial honor and just and equitable principles of trade.” Many types of unethical conduct, such as the failure to follow a client’s directions, may constitute violations of FINRA Rule 2010, provided the activities occur “in the conduct of [the member’s] business.” Financial advisors who fail to uphold this rule may be liable in the event of damages.
Investors should also be aware of FINRA Rule 2020, which states that brokers like Mr. Holzer may not “effect any transaction in, or induce the purchase or sale of, any security by means of any manipulative, deceptive or other fraudulent device or contrivance.” In other words, they are forbidden from misrepresenting material facts—that is, information that represents a significant consideration for investors considering a product or strategy—related to the investments they recommend their clients. Brokers who misrepresent investments may be held liable in the event that the account suffers losses.
According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Dan Holzer holds14 years of securities industry experience. Based in Wilmington, Delaware, he has been registered as a broker with Realta Equities and an investment advisor with Realta Investment Advisors since 2022. His past registrations include Emerson Equity, ARI Financial, and Wells Fargo Advisors. His credentials include the passage of three securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66; and the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7. He holds 25 state licenses. (Information current as of April 19, 2026.)
