Patricia Kazumba: KAZ Advisor Faced Suitability Complaint

A recent, closed investor complaint against Bethesda, Maryland financial advisor Patricia Kazumba (CRD# 4474915) alleged that her advice resulted in damages. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that she is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Cambridge Investment Research, doing business as KAZ Advisors Group.

Ms. Kazumba’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in March 2026, it alleged that as a representative of Cambridge Investment Research, she recommended an unsuitable investment in a real estate product. The complaint alleged unspecified damages and was closed with no action taken. In a statement included with the disclosure, Ms. Kazumba defended herself against the allegations. “RR asserts the client expressed a strong belief that the real estate company materially misrepresented the non-traded preferred stock investment,” the statement reads, “and indicated that there was no wrongdoing on her part.”

Under FINRA Rule 2111, brokers may recommend only investments or strategies that are suitable for their clients. To ascertain whether an investment or strategy is suitable for the client, they must conduct reasonable diligence into the client’s investment profile, which includes their age, risk tolerance, investment objectives and experience, and other factors. They must conduct reasonable diligence to determine whether the investment is suitable for some investors, whether it is suitable for the specific investor, and, in cases where the advisor exercises discretion over trading in a customer’s account, they must conduct reasonable diligence to determine that a series of transactions is not unsuitable or excessive.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Patricia Kazumba holds 23 years of securities industry experience. Based in Bethesda, Maryland, she has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Cambridge Investment Research since 2014 and 2015, respectively, doing business as KAZ Advisors Group. Her past registrations include Triad Advisors, Lincoln Financial Advisors Corporation, and the Lincoln National Life Insurance Company. Her credentials include the passage of three securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66; and the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7. She holds 17 state licenses. (Information current as of May 12, 2026.)
