Oakton, Virginia financial advisor Brandon Mink (CRD# 2599782) was recently fired by his former member firm in connection with alleged rule violations. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that the former Spire Securities representative is currently registered as a broker with Purshe Kaplan Sterling.
Mr. Mink’s BrokerCheck report discloses his termination from Spire Securities. Filed in May 2026, the disclosure states that the firm fired him in connection with allegations that after being placed on a heightened supervision plan “for using unapproved email for business communications,” he “continued to use off channel communications for business purposes.”
Investors should be aware that FINRA Rule 2010 requires that persons associated with FINRA “observe high standards of commercial honor and just and equitable principles of trade.” Many forms of unethical conduct, such as the failure to follow firm policies, may be found to violate FINRA Rule 2010, provided the activities occur “in the conduct of [the member’s] business.” The use of unapproved emails for business communications may also violate FINRA Rule 4511, which requires firms to “make and preserve books and records as required under the FINRA rules, the Exchange Act and the applicable Exchange Act rules.” Brokers who cause their firms to maintain inaccurate books and records may be subject to disciplinary action by their firm and/or by regulatory authorities.

Based in Oakton, Virginia, he has been registered as a broker with Purshe Kaplan Sterling since July 2026. His past registrations include Spire Securities, UBS Financial Services, Citigroup Global Markets, and Merrill Lynch. His credentials include the passage of five securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination, or Series 65; the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; and the Futures Managed Funds Examination, or Series 31.
