Boca Raton, Florida financial advisor Philip Pike (CRD# 5695273) allegedly recommended unsuitable investments, according to a recent investor complaint. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Herbert J. Sims.
Mr. Pike’s BrokerCheck report discloses two investor complaints. The most recent, filed in September 2026, alleges that as a representative of Stoever Glass, he recommended unsuitable investments in structured products. The pending complaint alleges damages of $300,000.
In a statement included with the complaint’s disclosure, Mr. Pike defended himself against the allegations. “Broker denies the claim and that any investment was unsuitable or inconsistent with client’s objectives,” he wrote. “Broker intends to vigorously defend against claim.”
A second investor complaint, filed in 2023, alleged that as a representative of Stoever Glass Wealth Management, he “did not do enough to ‘protect’” the client’s accounts from market risks. The complaint alleged damages of $115,000 and was withdrawn.
Brokers like Mr. Pike are bound by industry standards that require the recommendation of investments and strategies that are appropriate for a client’s background and objectives. An investment in a high-risk, illiquid product, for example, might be considered unsuitable for an investor with a low risk tolerance and conservative objectives. Brokers who recommend unsuitable investments can be held liable in the event of losses.
