Sanjay Chandra: Private Placement Complaint Against TPEG Advisor

A recent investor complaint against Southlake, Texas financial advisor Sanjay Chandra (CRD# 5512809) alleges that his conduct violated industry rules. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker with TPEG Securities and an investment advisor with Trinity Investors.

Mr. Chandra’s BrokerCheck report discloses four investor complaints. The most recent, filed in August 2026, alleges that as a representative of TPEG Securities, he misrepresented and recommended unsuitable private placement investments. The pending complaint, which notes that the claim “appears to name representative solely based on his position at the broker-dealer as the representative was not assigned to this customer,” alleges unspecified damages.

An earlier investor complaint, filed in July 2026, similarly alleges that as a TPEG Securities broker, he recommended unsuitable private placements and made misrepresentations of material facts. The pending complaint alleges unspecified damages, with the disclosure again noting that he was apparently named “based on his position at the broker-dealer” and “was not assigned to this customer.”

A third investor complaint, filed in July 2026, also alleges that as a TPEG Securities broker, he misrepresented material facts, omitted material facts, and recommended unsuitable private placements. The pending complaint, which notes that he “was not assigned to the customer,” alleges unspecified damages.

A fourth investor complaint, filed in 2020, alleged that as a TPEG Securities representative, he made misstatements regarding an oil and gas investment where he “was an officer of the oil and gas company but not the designated representative for [the] customer.” The complaint reached a settlement of $265,000.

In a statement included with the settled complaint’s disclosure, Mr. Chandra denied the allegations, asserting that the investment was suitable and that the customer received accurate disclosures. “No misstatements were made,” he added. “I was not the designated representative for the customer, nor was I personally involved in the financial settlement. Although my broker-dealer firm believed the allegations were false, it considered this to be a firm-level complaint and made the business decision to settle.”

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Sanjay Chandra holds 18 years of securities industry experience. Based in Southlake, Texas, he has been registered as a broker with TPEG Securities since 2008 and an investment advisor with Trinity Investors since 2023. His credentials include the passage of five securities industry qualifying exams: the General Securities Principal Examination, or Series 24; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Investment Banking Registered Representative Examination, or Series 79TO; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; and the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63. He holds 51 state licenses. (Information current as of October 12, 2026.)
