Don D’Adesky: Raymond James Advisor Received Suitability Complaint

Boca Raton, Florida financial advisor Don D’Adesky (CRD# 1703816) allegedly recommended unsuitable investments, according to a recent, denied investor complaint. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Raymond James & Associates.

Mr. D’Adesky’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in August 2026, it alleged that as a representative of Raymond James & Associates, he made unsuitable investment recommendations involving a real estate security. The complaint alleged unspecified damages and was denied by the firm.

In comments included with the disclosure, Mr. D’Adesky defended himself against the complaint. “I respectfully disagree with the allegations in this complaint and believe they mischaracterize the relevant facts and circumstances,” he wrote. “I have always endeavored to provide appropriate advice and service consistent with my professional responsibilities. I will address these allegations through the appropriate process.”

The term “unsuitable,” according to FINRA Rule 2111, denotes investments that are not appropriate for a client’s investment profile. As that rule requires, brokers must reach a reasonable basis to believe their recommendations are suitable for their clients, based on reasonable diligence into their profiles. An investor’s profile “includes, but is not limited to, the customer’s age, other investments, financial situation and needs, tax status, investment objectives, investment experience, investment time horizon, liquidity needs, risk tolerance,” and other factors. Representatives must determine not only that the product or strategy is suitable for some customers, but that it is suitable for the one to whom they are recommending it. Brokers who recommend unsuitable investments may be liable for damages.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Don D’Adesky holds 35 years of securities industry experience. Based in Boca Raton, Florida, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Raymond James & Associates since 2015. His past registrations include Morgan Stanley, Citigroup Global Markets, Wachovia Securities, Painewebber, Lehman Brothers, Evensky Brown Investments, and Cantor Fitzgerald. His credentials include the passage of four securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Futures Managed Funds Examination, or Series 31; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; and the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63. He holds 43 state licenses. (Information current as of October 12, 2026.)
