Randy Snook: Suitability Complaint Against Beth Moores Advisor

A recent investor complaint against Cedar Rapids, Iowa financial advisor Randy Snook (CRD# 2878437) alleges that he violated industry rules, resulting in damages. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Cetera, operating as a representative of Beth Moores Financial.

Mr. Snook’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in September 2026, it alleges that as a representative of Cetera Wealth Services, he acted negligently, failed in his supervisory duties, and made unsuitable transactions. The pending complaint alleges unspecified damages.

Investors should be aware that FINRA Rule 2111 requires brokers like Mr. Snook to conduct “reasonable diligence” on the investments they recommend to their customers, with the goal of ensuring that their recommendations are suitable for their clients. Suitability denotes a product or strategy’s alignment with the customer’s background and goals. For example, an illiquid and high-risk non-traded real estate investment trust would likely not be considered suitable for an investor with conservative objectives including preservation and liquidity. “A member’s or associated person’s reasonable diligence must provide the member or associated person with an understanding of the potential risks and rewards associated with the recommended security or strategy,” Rule 2111 states. “The lack of such an understanding when recommending a security or strategy violates the suitability rule.” Brokers who violate the rule may be held liable for damages.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Randy Snook holds 29 years of securities industry experience. Based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Cetera since 2021 and 2023, respectively, operating as a representative of Beth Moores Financial. His past registrations include Voya Financial Advisors, Signator Investors, Transamerica Financial Advisors, and Aegon USA Securities. His credentials include the passage of four securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination, or Series 65; and the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63. He holds 11 state licenses. (Information current as of October 17, 2026.)
