Gilbert Conrad: FINRA Suspends Former Realta Advisor

Former Lewiston, New York financial advisor Gilbert Conrad (CRD# 2746778) was recently sanctioned and suspended in connection with alleged rule violations. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he was last registered as a broker with Realta Equities, doing business as Princeton Equity.

A Letter of Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent (No. 2023078460001) describes FINRA’s disciplinary action against Mr. Conrad. Filed in October 2026, it alleges that he violated FINRA rules by paying two clients a total of $139,000 in order to “settle complaints about investment performance without the knowledge or approval of the member firms with which he was then associated.” As a result of these findings, FINRA fined him $5,000 and suspended him from associating with any member firm in all capacities for a period of two months.

Mr. Conrad’s BrokerCheck report discloses multiple investor complaints. The most recent, filed in November 2025, alleges that as a representative of Independent Financial Group, he recommended unsuitable investments in Hospitality Investors Trust and SmartStop Self-Storage. The pending complaint alleges damages between $100,000 and $500,000.

An earlier investor complaint, filed in 2024, alleges that as a representative of JP Turner and Summit Brokerage Services, he recommended unsuitable alternative investments. The pending complaint alleges damages of $500,000.

A third investor complaint, also filed in 2024, similarly alleges that as a representative of Summit Brokerage Services and JP Turner, he recommended unsuitable alternative investments. The pending complaint alleges damages of $1.5 million.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Gilbert Conrad holds 28 years of securities industry experience. Most recently based in Lewiston, New York, he was registered as a broker with Realta Equities from 2022 until 2025, doing business as Princeton Equity. His past registrations include Arkadios Capital, Independent Financial Group, Summit Brokerage Services, J.P. Turner, RP Capital, Cantella & Company, Princeton Securities, and GKN Securities. His credentials include the passage of three securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; and the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63.
