Centaurus Advisor Alexis Reynoso: $200K GWG L Bond Investments

At least two current or former customers of Centaurus Financial advisor Alexis Reynoso (CRD# 6393158) are listed as creditors for investments in GWG L Bonds and/or preferred stock, according to records filed with a US bankruptcy court. These records disclose investments totaling $200,000. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that Ms. Reynoso is based in Riverside, California.

Dallas-based financial services firm raised more than $1 billion from investors in its “L bond” product, which reportedly purchased life insurance policies on the secondary market with the goal of repaying investors when the policy owners passed away and the policies paid out. These products were sold to many retail investors, including retirees and other investors with conservative risk tolerances and limited investment experience. In 2020 GWG Holdings revealed in an SEC filing that its struggles selling L bonds, “in combination with significant recurring losses from operations, negative cash flows from operations, delays in executing our business plans, and any potential negative outcome from the ongoing SEC investigation…raise substantial doubt about our ability to continue as a going concern for the next 12 months.” In 2022, it filed for bankruptcy. If your financial advisor unsuitably sold GWG L bonds to you, they may be liable. Read more about GWG L bonds here.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Alexis Reynoso holds five years of securities industry experience. Based in Riverside, California, she has been a broker and an investment advisor with Centaurus Financial since 2019. Her credentials include the passage of four securities industry qualifying exams: the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or Series 63; and the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66. She is licensed in California, Montana, Nevada, New York, Oregon, and Virginia. (Information current as of June 13, 2023.)
