Columbia, South Carolina financial advisor Bill Addison (CRD# 6152328) allegedly recommended unsuitable investments, according to a recent investor complaint. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is a broker with LPL Financial and an investment advisor with Independent Advisor Alliance, doing business as First Community Financial Consultants.
Mr. Addison’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in July 2023, it alleges that as an LPL Financial representative, he recommended an unsuitable investment in an Athene SEP IRA indexed annuity. The pending complaint alleges damages of $700,000.
A 2013 press release issued by First Community Bank announced Mr. Addison’s employment with its investment advisory arm, First Community Financial Consultants. “ With more than twenty years of experience in the banking industry, he has served in various roles including consumer and mortgage lending,” the release states. “As part of the FCFC team, Mr. Addison will assist clients with retirement strategies, selecting appropriate-term investments, and general financial decision-making.” As it notes, First Community Financial offers advisory services through LPL.
According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Bill Addison holds ten years of securities industry experience. Based in Columbia, South Carolina, he has been a broker with LPL Financial since 2013 and an investment advisor with Independent Advisor Alliance since 2017. His credentials include the passage of five securities industry qualifying exams: the Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Representative Examination, or Series 6; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63; and the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination, or Series 65.
