Bill Tunink: $130K Complaint Against Tunink Murray Advisor

West Des Moines, Iowa financial advisor Bill Tunink (CRD# 2738224) recently received an investor complaint that settled for more than $100,000. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with LPL Financial, doing business as Tunink Murray Financial Group.

Mr. Tunink’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in August 2025, it alleges that as a representative of LPL Financial, he received a loan of $140,000 from the customer which he did not pay back. The complaint reached a settlement of $130,600.

Tunink Murray Financial Group’s website includes a page describing the firm’s background and services. As it explains, the firm specializes in tax services, accounting, consulting, and other financial services for individual and business clients. “The staff at Tunink Murray Financial Group has a variety of expertise and interests,” it states. “We match our skills with your needs and interests.  Quality client service from the entire staff is our highest priority for every individual or business.”

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Bill Tunink holds 29 years of securities industry experience. Based in West Des Moines, Iowa, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with LPL Financial since 2021, doing business as Tunink Murray Financial Group. He was previously registered with Avantax Investment Services in West Des Moines, Iowa from 1996 until 2021. His credentials include the passage of four securities industry qualifying exams: the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Representative Examination, or Series 6; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; and the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63. He is licensed in Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, South Dakota, Texas, and Washington.
