Bo Nicholson: Cetera Advisor Lands $100K-$500K GWG Complaint

A recent investor complaint against Raleigh, North Carolina financial advisor Bo Nicholson (CRD# 6050450) concerns an investment in GWG L Bonds. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Capital Investment Group and Capital Investment Advisory Services, respectively.

Mr. Nicholson’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in September 2024, it alleges that as a representative of Capital Investment Group, he breached contract, violated securities statutes, and breached his fiduciary duty in connection with an investment in GWG L bonds. The pending complaint alleges damages between $100,000 and $500,000.

The website for Financial Resource Management, which offers securities through Capital Investment Group, includes a profile of Mr. Nicholson that describes his experience and services. “[He] joined Financial Resource Management in 2016 after successfully completing the advisor training program at Merrill Lynch,” it explains. “Bo is focused on assisting clients in every stage of their unique financial journey. He uses a hands-on approach and frequent, personal client communications to focus on what clients truly need.”

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Bo Nicholson holds 12 years of securities industry experience. Based in Raleigh, North Carolina, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Capital Investment Group and Capital Investment Advisory Services, respectively, since 2016. He was previously registered with Merrill Lynch in Durham, North Carolina, from 2012 until 2016. His credentials include the passage of three securities industry qualifying exams: the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; and the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66. He is licensed in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.
