Bradley Pottorf: Why Was Oppenheimer Advisor Fired by Wells Fargo?

Vienna, Virginia financial advisor Bradley Pottorf (CRD# 6900247) was terminated from his former member firm in connection with alleged misconduct. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that the former Wells Fargo representative is currently registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Oppenheimer & Company.

Mr. Pottorf’s BrokerCheck report discloses his termination from Wells Fargo Clearing Services. Filed in April 2026, the disclosure states that the firm fired him “after a review that included a failure to properly authenticate a client resulting in financial loss to the Firm.”

Investors should be aware of FINRA Rule 2010, which states that registered representatives of FINRA member firms are required to “observe high standards of commercial honor and just and equitable principles of trade.” Various forms of unethical conduct, including the violations of firm policies and procedures, may be considered violations of this rule, so long as the activities in question take place “in the conduct of [the member’s] business.” Brokers who fail to uphold FINRA Rule 2010 may be liable in the event of losses in the customer’s account or otherwise subject to disciplinary action.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Bradley Pottorf holds eight years of securities industry experience. Based in Vienna, Virginia, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Oppenheimer & Company since May 2026. His past registrations include Wells Fargo Advisors and Wells Fargo Clearing Services. His credentials include the passage of three securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66; and the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7. He holds 20 state licenses. (Information current as of June 4, 2026.)
