Chris Ordway: $170K Complaint Against STF Wealth Advisor

Phoenix, Arizona financial advisor Chris Ordway (CRD# 4505062) recently received an investor complaint alleging that his investment advice resulted in six-figure damages. Financial Industry Regulatory and Securities and Exchange Commission records show that the former Berthel Fisher &  Company broker is currently an investment advisor with Dynamic Wealth Advisors, doing business as STF Wealth Management.

Mr. Ordway’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in October 2023, it alleges that as a representative of Berthel Fisher & Company Financial Services, he misrepresented and recommended unsuitable investments in “high-commission, complex, risky, illiquid alternative investments” for which he failed to conduct adequate due diligence. The pending complaint alleges damages of $170,000.

Mr. Ordway is the owner of STF Wealth Management, according to the firm’s website. “Chris manages the operational functions of the business and has a passion for maintaining the high standards he has created for the company,” his profile states. “He is directly responsible for coordinating the team’s efforts on the financial planning, investment management, and mortgage components of the firm’s services. His ability to take ownership of the coordinating efforts between the different aspects of the business is apparent at all levels.”

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory and Securities and the Securities and Exchange Commission, Chris Ordway holds 21 years of securities industry experience. Based in Phoenix, Arizona, he has been an investment advisor with Dynamic Wealth Advisors since 2018, doing business as STF Wealth Management. His past registrations include Berthel Fisher & Company Financial Services (Phoenix, Arizona; 2013-2018 and 2009-2012), NEXT Financial Group (Phoenix, Arizona; 2012-2013), Cambridge Investment Research (Chandler, Arizona; 2006-2009), Royal Alliance Associates (Chandler, Arizona; 2004-2006), and MML Investors Services (Springfield, Massachusetts; 2002-2003). His credentials include the passage of four securities industry qualifying exams: the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66; and the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination, or Series 65.
