Christopher Labadie: $55K ETF Complaint Against Livingston Advisor

A recent investor complaint against Clearwater, Florida financial advisor Christopher Labadie (CRD# 4696143) alleges that he recommended an unsuitable investment strategy. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with LPL Financial, doing business as Livingston Financial Group.

Mr. Labadie’s BrokerCheck report discloses two investor complaints. The most recent, filed in February 2026, alleges that as a representative of LPL Financial, he recommended an unsuitable investment strategy involving exchange-traded fund products. The pending complaint alleges damages of $55,000.

An earlier investor complaint, filed in 2012, alleged that as a representative of Invest Financial Corporation, he recommended unsuitable variable annuity contracts. The complaint alleged damages of $37,559.72 and was denied by the firm.

For reference, the term suitability refers to an investor’s unique investment profile and needs. FINRA Rule 2111 required that investments align with FINRA-mandated suitability requirements before a broker or adviser recommends it to their client. Suitability requirements, to be clear, are not fiduciary requirements, which require investment advisers to place their customer’s interests over their own interests. Brokers who recommend unsuitable investments may be held liable for damages.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Christopher Labadie holds 21 years of securities industry experience. Based in Clearwater, Florida, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with LPL Financial since 2018, doing business as Livingston Financial Group. His registration history includes Invest Financial Corporation (Clearwater, Florida; 2009-2018), OneAmerica Securities (Tampa, Florida; 2008), Ameriprise Financial Services (2004-2008), and IDS Life Insurance Company (2004-2006). His credentials include the passage of three securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66; and the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7. He is licensed in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Minnesota, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington. (Information current as of March 30, 2026.)
