Craig Zabala: FINRA Bars New York City Financial Advisor
A disciplinary action taken by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority against former New York City broker Craig Zabala (CRD# 5653949) barred him after finding he failed to provide documents and information connected with its examination of allegations he engaged in private securities transactions. A former representative of John W. Loofbourrow Associates, Zabala was barred from acting as a broker or otherwise associating with a broker-dealer firm.
According to a Letter of Acceptance, Waiver and Consent (No. 2019061086301) dated August 2019, Craig Zabala was registered with John W. Loofbourrow Associates from 2015 until April 2019, when his registration was terminated. In May 2019, FINRA sent him a request for documents and information connected with its “review of his outside business activities and his potential participation in private securities transactions.” FINRA set a deadline of May 31, 2019 for his response, and Zabala requested through counsel an extension until June 14, which FINRA granted. On that date, FINRA states, he gave FINRA a “partial, but incomplete, response,” and then indicated through counsel on July 30, 2019 that he was “not willing to produce the remaining documents and information that were requested at any time.” FINRA found this refusal to constitute a violation of FINRA Rule 8210, which gives FINRA the right to require persons under its jurisdiction to provide information and forbids such persons from failing to do so, and FINRA Rule 2010, which requires associated persons to observe high standards of commercial honor and just and equitable principles of trade. As a result of the foregoing alleged conduct, Craig Zabala was barred from association with any FINRA member in any capacity.
Craig Zabala is currently not registered as a broker or investment advisor. His employment history includes John W. Loofbourrow Associates in New York City; Torsiello Securities in New York City; Intercoastal Financial Services Corporation in New York City; Independent Securities Investors Corporation in Chipley, Florida; Brean Murray & Company in New York City; Allmerica Investments in Worcester, Massachusetts; Trautman Wasserman & Company in New York City; and Merrill Lynch in New York City. He currently holds zero state licenses and has passed four securities industry qualification examinations.
