Dan Winn: 6-Figure Churning Complaint Against San Francisco Advisor

Newbridge Securities Corporation advisor Dan Winn (CRD# 4200300) allegedly breached his fiduciary and churned investments, according to a pending investor complaint. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that the broker and investment advisor is based in San Francisco, California. 

Filed in February 2022, the pending complaint disclosed on Mr. Winn’s BrokerCheck report alleges breach of fiduciary duty, churning, fraud, negligence, breach of contract, and negligent supervision. The pending complaint, which concerns his conduct as a representative of Newbridge Securities Corporation, alleges damages of $854,247.

In 2017 Mr. Winn was discharged from his role at LPL Financial. According to a disclosure on his BrokerCheck report, his firing related to allegations he failed “to disclose U4 reportable events.”

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Dan Winn holds 20 years of securities industry experience. Based in San Francisco, California, he has been a broker and investment advisor with Newbridge Securities Corporation since 2017 and 2022, respectively. His past registrations include LPL Financial (San Francisco, California; 2017), IFS Securities (San Francisco, California; 2009-2017), Raymond James Financial Services (San Francisco, California; 2008-2009), M.L. Stern & Co. (San Francisco, California; 2002-2008), and Morgan Stanley DW (Purchase, New York; 2000-2001). His credentials include the passage of four securities industry qualifying exams: the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Futures Managed Funds Examination, or Series 31; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; and the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66. He is licensed as a broker and investment adviser in California, and his self-regulatory organization (SRO) registrations include FINRA and the Nasdaq Stock Market.
