David Gunderson: US Freedom Advisor Faces $1.5mm Complaint

Richardson, Texas financial advisor David Gunderson (CRD# 6191146) has received multiple investor complaints alleging that his conduct resulted in damages exceeding $1 million. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and Securities and Exchange Commission records show that the former Tobin & Company broker is registered as an investment advisor with US Freedom Capital.

Mr. Gunderson’s BrokerCheck report discloses four investor complaints. The most recent, filed in 2021, alleges that as a representative of Tobin & Company Securities, he “made false and misleading statements in purportedly selling an unsuitable loan away from the firm.” The pending complaint alleges damages of $1.5 million.

An earlier investor complaint, filed in 2021, similarly alleges that as a Tobin & Company representative, he made false and misleading statements when selling an unsuitable EB-5 private placement investment. The pending complaint alleges damages of $3.5 million.

A third investor complaint, filed in 2021, alleged that as a representative of US Freedom Capital Advisors, he committed fraud and other common law torts in connection with a loan for a medical facility. The pending complaint alleges unspecified damages.

A fourth investor complaint, filed in 2021, similarly alleges that as a US Freedom Capital representative, he committed fraud in connection with a “private placement for [a] medical facility/EB-5 project.” The pending complaint alleges damages of $500,000 “for each of the 6 investors” involved.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and the Securities and Exchange Commission, David Gunderson holds 11 years of securities industry experience. Based in Richardson, Texas, he has been registered as an investment advisor with US Freedom Capital since 2017. His registration history includes Tobin & Company Securities (Charlotte, North Carolina; 2014-2019) and RiverRock Securities (Houston, Texas; 2013). He is licensed as an investment advisor in Texas.
