Western International Securities’ David Karin: $1.2mm Complaint

Westlake Village, California financial advisor David Karin (CRD# 2486154) recently received an investor complaint alleging damages of more than $1 million. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is a broker and an investment advisor with Western International Securities.

Mr. Karin’s BrokerCheck report discloses three investor complaints. The most recent, filed in November 2022, alleges that as a representative of Western International Securities, he misrepresented material facts and recommended unsuitable corporate bond investments. The pending complaint alleges damages of $1,220,000.

A second investor complaint, filed in 2012, alleged that as a representative of Chase Investment Corporation, he misrepresented material information regarding a variable annuity investment. The complaint alleged damages of more than $53,000 and was denied by the firm.

A third investor complaint, also filed in 2012, similarly alleged he made misrepresentations concerning an investment in a variable annuity. The complaint reached a settlement of $47,500.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, David Karin holds 28 years of securities industry experience. Based in Westlake Village, California, he has been registered as a broker and as an investment advisor with Western International Securities since 2012. His registration history includes Chase Investment Services Corporation (Westlake Village, California; 2009-2012), Wamu Investments (Simi Valley, California; 1999-2009), Schoff & Baxter (Burlington, Iowa; 1999), Cal Fed Investments (Sacramento, California; 1998-1999), Glenfed Brokerage Services (Glendale, California; 1996-1998), and Baraban Securities (Los Angeles, California; 1994-1996). His credentials include the passage of three securities industry qualifying examinations: the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; and the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63.
