Deborah Stackpole: $840K DST Complaint Against Stonecrest Advisor

Bayville, New Jersey financial advisor Deborah Stackpole (CRD# 4969850) allegedly recommended unsuitable investments, according to a recent investor complaint. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that she is registered as a broker with Stonecrest Capital Markets and an investment advisor with Stonecrest Advisors.

Ms. Stackpole’s BrokerCheck report discloses two investor complaints. The most recent, filed in May 2026, alleges that as a representative of Stonecrest Capital Markets, she recommended unsuitable Delaware Statutory Trust investments. The pending complaint alleges damages of $840,000.

A second investor complaint, filed in 2024, alleged that as a representative of Stonecrest Capital Markets, she recommended unsuitable investments, including a real estate investment trust. The pending complaint alleges damages of $390,000.

For reference, a Delaware Statutory Trust (DST) is a trust entity created that allows individual investors to purchase ownership interests in large, institutional-grade real estate assets that would otherwise be inaccessible to them. Examples of these assets include apartment complexes, senior living facilities, and commercial real estate. Investors pool their funds into the DST, which is managed by a professional sponsor or trustee. The sponsor or trustee oversees the acquisition, operation, and sale of the property on behalf of the trust’s beneficiaries. Investors can use DSTs as replacement properties in a 1031 exchange, which gives them the ability to defer capital gains taxes by reinvesting proceeds from the sale of another property into a DST. Risks of this strategy include illiquidity, high fees, and a lack of control over the investment. For these reasons, DSTs may be considered unsuitable for investors with limited experience and/or a low tolerance for risk.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Deborah Stackpole holds 20 years of securities industry experience. Based in Bayville, New Jersey, she has been registered as a broker with Stonecrest Capital Markets and an investment advisor with Stonecrest Advisors since 2016. Her past registrations include Royal Alliance Associates, Investment Advisors Asset Management, and Investment Advisors & Consultants. Her credentials include the passage of three securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66; and the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7. She is licensed in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Louisiana, Maine, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, and Pennsylvania. (Information current as of June 7, 2026.)
