Rochester, Michigan financial advisor Duncan MacEachern (CRD# 1856591) allegedly recommended unsuitable investments, according to a recent investor complaint. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is a broker and an investment advisor with LPL Financial, doing business as Celtic Wealth Management Group.
Mr. MacEachern’s BrokerCheck report discloses three investor complaints. The most recent, filed in June 2025, alleges that as a representative of Centaurus Financial, he made unsuitable investments of high-risk, illiquid investments in corporate bonds and oil and gas products. The pending complaint alleges damages of $200,000.
A second investor complaint, filed in 2024, alleged that as a Centaurus representative, he breached his fiduciary duty and recommended unsuitable investments in corporate bonds. The complaint reached a settlement of $40,000.
A third investor complaint, filed in 2023, alleged that as a representative of Centaurus Financial, he recommended unsuitable investments in corporate bonds, stocks, and real estate securities. The complaint reached a settlement of $75,000. In a statement included with the complaint’s disclosure, he wrote that he was not named in the matter and that it was settled by the firm for business purposes. “There were no findings of wrongdoing or liability against me,” he added, “and I continue to maintain that all recommendations to the claimants were suitable and within claimants’ investment objectives.”
According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Duncan MacEachern holds 37 years of securities industry experience. Based in Rochester, Michigan, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with LPL Financial since 2021, doing business as Celtic Wealth Management Group. His registration history includes Centaurus Financial, Wachovia Securities, Prudential Securities, First Union Securities, First of Michigan Corporation, and Shearson Lehman Hutton. His credentials include the passage of six securities industry qualifying exams: the National Commodity Futures Examination, or Series 3; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the General Securities Principal Examination, or Series 24; the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination, or Series 65; and the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63. He is licensed in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
