Edward Fernandez: $161K Complaint Against Capulent Advisor

Irvine, California financial advisor Edward Fernandez (CRD# 2956661) recently received an investor complaint alleging that his conduct resulted in six-figure damages. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker with Capulent and is the owner of 1031 Crowdfunding.

Mr. Fernandez’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in May 2025, it alleges that as a representative of Capulent, he breached his fiduciary duties, recommended unsuitable investments, over-concentrated the customer’s account in illiquid assets, failed to conduct adequate due diligence and monitoring of the account, and misrepresented or failed to disclose material information. The pending complaint alleges damages of $161,250.

1031 Crowdfunding’s website includes a profile of Mr. Fernandez that describes his background and services as the firm’s president and CEO. “Since January 2001, Mr. Fernandez has been responsible for researching and compiling accurately verifiable documentation across various industries, including assembling compelling content for marketing materials related to the purchase and acquisition of various real estate holdings,” it explains. “Mr. Fernandez is highly skilled in the simplification of highly complex strategies and sophisticated investments. He is results-oriented, able to balance multiple responsibilities, and consistently delivers results on time.”

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Edward Fernandez holds 23 years of securities industry experience. Based in Irvine, California, he has been registered as a broker with Capulent since 2017. His past registrations include Boustead Securities, Brokerbank Securities, Stephen A. Kohn & Associates, Pacific Cornerstone Capital, and H&R Block Financial Advisors. His credentials include the passage of six securities industry qualifying exams: the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Representative Examination, or Series 6; the National Commodity Futures Examination, or Series 3; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; and the General Securities Principal Examination, or Series 24.
