Edward Schuh: Inception Financial Advisor Faces $1.2mm Complaint

Tustin, California financial advisor Edward Schuh (CRD# 6778484) recently received an investor complaint alleging that his conduct resulted in damages exceeding $1 million. Securities and Exchange Commission records show that he is currently registered as an investment advisor with Inception Financial Services, having previously been registered with Alphastar Capital Management.

Mr. Schuh’s Investment Adviser Public Disclosure form discloses one investor complaint. Filed in May 2024, it alleges that as a representative of Alphastar Capital Management, he breached contract, committed fraud, acted negligently, breached his fiduciary duty, misrepresented material facts related to investments, violated FINRA conduct rules, failed to uphold his supervisory responsibilities, and committed financial elder abuse. The pending complaint alleges damages of $1,211,751.

Inception Financial Services’ website describes Mr. Schuh’s background and approach to working with investors. “Whether you have significant assets to manage—or if you are just starting to accumulate wealth—we have the tools and background to provide the services that fit your needs,” it states. “My personal goal is to provide you with guidance that can help you understand and better define your financial goals. Mr. Schuh’s former member firm, Alphastar Capital Management, includes a page describing its vision and values. “Everything we do is rooted in our founders’ belief that when you have a community behind you, you can achieve lasting success,” it explains. “Our goal is to provide independent advisors with tools, resources, and support that empowers their advisory practice.”

According to the Securities and Exchange Commission, Edward Schuh holds seven years of securities industry experience. Based in Tustin, California, he has been registered as an investment advisor with Inception Financial Services since January 2023. He was previously registered with Alphastar Capital Management in Tustin from 2017 until 2023. His credentials include the passage of the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination, or Series 65.
