Gerry Siegel: $100K-$500K Complaint Against Aegis Advisor

Sarasota, Florida financial advisor Gerry Siegel (CRD# 1830390) allegedly breached his fiduciary duty, according to a recent investor complaint. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Aegis Capital, having previously been registered with JHS Capital Advisors.

Mr. Siegel’s BrokerCheck report discloses one recent investor complaint. Filed in February 2025, it alleges that as a representative of Aegis Capital Corporation, he breached his fiduciary duty, acted negligently, and breached contract. The pending complaint alleges damages between $100,000 and $500,000.

In a statement included with the complaint’s disclosure, Mr. Siegel defended himself against the allegations, reading that he conducted reasonable due diligence and a suitability analysis concerning the products in question. “All Claimants received a copy of the prospectus and acknowledged the risks in writing, including, without limitation, the illiquid nature of the investment, and the risk of nonrepayment of all or a portion of the principal amount,” he wrote. “The Claimants further each separately attested that the investment did not account for more than 10% of each Claimant’s liquid net worth.”

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Gerry Siegel holds 55 years of securities industry experience. Based in Sarasota, Florida, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Aegis Capital since 2015. His past registrations include JHS Capital Advisors, Vioni Capital Management, Ancora Securities, Citigroup Global Markets, Lehman Brothers, Painewebber, EF Hutton & Company, and Merrill Lynch. His credentials include the passage of six securities industry qualifying exams: the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7TO; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the AMEX Put and Call Exam, or PC; the General Securities Principal Examination, or Series 000; the Registered Representative Examination, or Series 1; and the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63. He is licensed in California, Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, Massachusetts, New York, Ohio, Tennessee, and Wisconsin. (Information current as of April 12, 2025.)
