Hobert Wealth’s Jeff Hobert: Investor Complaint Seeks $100K

Newport Beach financial advisor Jeff Hobert (CRD# 805680) recently received an investor complaint alleging six-figure damages. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is a broker and investment advisor with Centaurus Financial, and a representative of Hobert Wealth Management.

Mr. Hobert’s BrokerCheck report discloses one recent investor complaint against him. Filed in June 2022, alleges the improper recommendation of a corporate bond investment that was “high-risk, high commission and illiquid.” The pending complaint alleges damages of $100,001.

In a statement on the pending complaint’s disclosure, Jeff Hobert wrote that he “vehemently” denies the allegations, describing them as “completely without merit.” He asserted that the investments in question “were suitable and were recommended based on the customer’s objectives, goals and financial circumstances and were offered only after her review of all material documentation related to the investment.” The customer, he asserted, provided written confirmation “that she not only received the requisite investment documentation/disclosures, but that she fully understood the characteristics and risks of the investments.” In conclusion, he claimed that he placed the customer’s interests first and stated his intent to “vigorously defend this matter to the fullest extent of the law.”

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Jeff Hobert holds seven years of securities industry experience. Based in Newport Beach, California, he has been a broker and an investment advisor with Centaurus Financial since 2015. He is a representative of Hobert Wealth Management. His credentials include the passage of four securities industry qualifying exams: the Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Representative Examination, or Series 6; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination, or Series 65; and the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63.
