A recent investor complaint against Austin, Texas financial advisor Jacob Adams (CRD# 4975889) alleges that his advice resulted in six-figure damages. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Principal Securities, having previously been registered with Realized Financial.
Mr. Adams’ BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in January 2026, it alleges that as a representative of Realized Financial, he recommended an unsuitable real estate investment. The pending complaint alleges damages of $500,000.
Under FINRA Rule 2111, brokers may recommend only investments or strategies that are suitable for their clients. To ascertain whether an investment or strategy is suitable for the client, they must conduct reasonable diligence into the client’s investment profile, which includes their age, risk tolerance, investment objectives and experience, and other factors. They must conduct reasonable diligence to determine whether the investment is suitable for some investors, whether it is suitable for the specific investor, and, in cases where the advisor exercises discretion over trading in a customer’s account, they must conduct reasonable diligence to determine that a series of transactions is not unsuitable or excessive.

Based in Austin, Texas, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Principal Securities since 2025. His credentials include the passage of five securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the General Securities Sales Supervisor – General Module Examination, or Series 10; the General Securities Sales Supervisor – Options Module Examination, or Series 9; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; and the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66.
