Jason Klein: UBS Advisor Faces REIT Complaint

Buffalo, New York financial advisor Jason Klein (CRD# 2038304) recently received an investor complaint alleging that he recommended unsuitable investments. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with UBS Financial Services.

Mr. Klein’s BrokerCheck report discloses several investor complaints. The most recent, filed in February 2025, alleges that as a representative of UBS Financial Services, he misrepresented and recommended unsuitable investments in real estate investment trusts (REITs) and variable annuities. The pending complaint alleges unspecified damages.

An earlier investor complaint, filed in 2008, alleged that as a UBS Financial Services representative, he recommended investments in illiquid auction rate securities. The complaint reached a settlement of $4,999.

A third investor complaint, filed in 2001, alleged that as a representative of McDonald Investments, he made unauthorized transactions. The complaint reached a settlement of $19,525.25.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Jason Klein holds 34 years of securities industry experience. Based in Buffalo, New York, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with UBS Financial Services since 2007. His past registrations include McDonald Investments, Key Investments, Tucker Anthony, and Merrill Lynch. His credentials include the passage of five securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Futures Managed Funds Examination, or Series 31; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination, or Series 65; and the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63.
