Jeff Webb: Emerson Advisor Lands $200K Complaint

San Mateo, California financial advisor Jeff Webb (CRD# 6486331) recently received an investor complaint alleging that his conduct resulted in six-figure damages. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Emerson Equity, and that he is the founder and CEO of Mountain Financial.

Mr. Webb’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in March 2025, it alleges that as a representative of Emerson Equity, he breached his fiduciary duty, acted negligently, made unsuitable investment recommendations, and misrepresented and omitted material facts regarding corporate bond investments. The pending complaint alleges damages of $200,000.

Mountain Financial’s website includes a profile of Mr. Webb that describes his experience and services. “For more than 15 years, Jeff has expertly navigated the financial industry and positively impacted lives of clients and advisors,” it explains. “He is often asked to advise, attorneys, Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) and Certified Financial Planners (CFPs) with complex financial, estate, and business planning projects. Prior to founding Mountain Financial, LLC, Jeff successfully managed leadership roles in real estate finance, wholesale mortgage, banking and owning and operating a retail mortgage company.”

Elsewhere, the firm describes its approach to working with its clients. “Our responsibility is to educate you and impact your decision making,” it explains. “Each time we meet, if you learn something new then you commit to move forward. If not, you have the right to move on without us.”

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Jeff Webb holds nine years of securities industry experience. Based in San Mateo, California, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Emerson Equity since 2017 and 2019, respectively. His past registrations include Kingstone Capital Partners Texas, Newport Coast Asset Management, and Newport Coast Equities. His credentials include the passage of three securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; and the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66. He is licensed in California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Minnesota, New York, and Texas. (Information current as of May 4, 2025.)
