Kyle Critcher: Ex-LPL Advisor Suspended; Bond Allegations

Former Fort Mill, South Carolina financial advisor Kyle Critcher (CRD# 7351555) was recently sanctioned and suspended in connection with allegedly negligent bond recommendations. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he was most recently registered as a broker with LPL Financial.

A Letter of Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent (No. 2024083173801) describes FINRA’s disciplinary action against Mr. Critcher. Filed in December 2025, it alleges that he “negligently misrepresented that corporate bonds he recommended to two senior customers were FDIC-insured certificates of deposit.” The customers in question were a married couple, according to FINRA, who contacted the firm specifically seeking to purchase FDIC-insured CDs. When the firm directed them towards Mr. Critcher, the Letter alleges, he “recommended the customers purchase more than $500,000 in corporate bonds” even though he “he should have known the corporate bonds were not FDIC-insured.”

FINRA found that Mr. Critcher’s recommendation violated Section 17(a)(2) of the Securities Act, which makes it unlawful to obtain money in the offer or sale of securities by misrepresenting or omitting material facts. FINRA also found that his recommendation violated FINRA Rule 2010, which requires brokers in the course of their business to ““observe high standards of commercial honor and just and equitable principles of trade.” As a result, FINRA issued him a three-month suspension and ordered him to pay a fine of $5,000.

Mr. Critcher’s BrokerCheck report discloses his termination from LPL Financial. Filed in 2024, it states that the firm fired him in connection with allegations that he “Failed to follow customer instructions to purchase certificate of deposit.”

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Kyle Critcher holds three years of securities industry experience. Most recently based in Fort Mill, South Carolina, he was last registered as a broker with LPL Financial. His registration history also includes Vanguard Marketing Corporation and W&S Brokerage Services. His credentials include the passage of five securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66; the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7TO; and the Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Representative Examination, or Series 6TO. He is not currently registered with any state or firm. (Information current as of December 11, 2025.)
