Larry Law: $400K GWG Complaint Against JRL Capital Advisor

Irvine, California financial advisor Larry Law (CRD# 1273118) allegedly breached his fiduciary duty and recommended unsuitable investments in GWG L bonds, according to recent investor complaints. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is currently a broker and an investment advisor with JRL Capital Corporation and JRL Capital Advisors.

Mr. Law’s BrokerCheck report discloses two investor complaints. The most recent, filed in April 2023, similarly alleges that as a JRL Capital Corporation representative, he breached contract, breached his fiduciary duty, recommended unsuitable GWG L bond investments, made fraudulent or negligent material misrepresentations or omissions, and violated FINRA rules. The pending complaint alleges unspecified damages.

A second investor complaint, filed in March 2023, alleges that as a representative of JRL Capital Corporation, he recommended an unsuitable investment in GWG L bonds, misrepresented and omitted material facts, engaged in negligence, breached his fiduciary duty, and failed in his supervisory duties. The pending complaint alleges damages of $400,000.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Larry Law holds 37 years of securities industry experience. Based in Irvine, California, he has been a broker with JRL Capital Corporation since 1995 and an investment advisor and JRL Capital Advisors since 2000. His registration history includes Capital Alliance Investments (1994), First California Capital Markets Group (1990-1994), Wealth Resource Capital Corporation (Newport Beach, California; 1990), CIS Investment Corporation (1988-1989), Coast Financial Advisors (1986-1987), Investacorp (1984-1986), and Turnmar Securities Corporation (1985). His credentials include the passage of six securities industry qualifying exams: the General Securities Principal Examination, or Series 24; the Compliance Officer Examination, or Series 14; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Operations Professional Examination, or Series 99TO; and the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63. He is licensed in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, and Washington.
