Mack Miller: FINRA Suspends Spartan Advisor

New York City financial advisor Mack Miller (CRD# 2822317) was recently sanctioned and suspended in connection with alleged excessive and unsuitable trades. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker with Spartan Capital Securities, having previously been registered with Dawson James Securities.

A Letter of Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent (No. 2018056490331) describes FINRA’s disciplinary action against Mr. Miller. Filed in August 2025, it describes allegations that between 2019 and 2022, he “excessively traded the accounts of two retail customers, both of whom were seniors.”One of the customers suffered $13,542 in realized losses, while the other suffered $57,480 in realized losses. Mr. Miller, meanwhile, earned $6,905 and $25,325 in commissions, respectively, in connection with these transactions. FINRA found that his conduct violated the SEC’s Regulation Best Interest as well as FINRA Rules 2111 and 2010. As a result, it suspended him from associating with any FINRA member firm in all capacities for a period of nine months.

Mr. Miller’s BrokerCheck report discloses another FINRA disciplinary action against him. Filed in 2020, it describes findings that he “engaged in quantitatively unsuitable trading in the account of a customer who was over 79 years old and retired at the outset of the trading.” In connection with these allegedly unsuitable trades, the customer suffered $69,633 in losses. FINRA suspended Mr. Miller for five months and ordered him to pay $2,500 in restitution.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Mack Miller holds 20 years of securities industry experience.
