Maria Calcena: Osaic Advisor Receives $500K Complaint

A recent investor complaint against Palm Beach, Florida financial advisor Maria Calcena (CRD# 6348974) alleges that she recommended an unsuitable investment. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that she is registered as a broker with Osaic Institutions.

Ms. Calcena’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in June 2026, it alleges that as a representative of Ocean Financial Services, she made misrepresentations and unsuitable recommendations in connection with a fixed income investment. The pending complaint alleges damages of $500,000.

Investors should be aware that FINRA rules prohibit brokers like Ms. Calcena from giving customers inaccurate or incomplete information regarding investments. FINRA Rule 2020 specifically stipulates that no registered representative may “effect any transaction in, or induce the purchase or sale of, any security by means of any manipulative, deceptive or other fraudulent device or contrivance.” Brokers who misrepresent the products they recommend risk leading their customers to make unsuitable investments, in violation of FINRA Rule 2111, which states that they may only recommend their customers invest in products and strategies that are appropriate for the customers’ individual investment profiles. This includes factors such as the client’s investment goals, investment experience, liquidity needs, age, net worth, risk tolerance, and income. Brokers who misrepresent and/or recommend unsuitable investments may be liable for damages in the event of losses.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Maria Calcena holds 12 years of securities industry experience. Based in Palm Beach, Florida, she has been registered as a broker with Osaic Institutions since 2022. Her past registrations include Infinex Investments and Ocean Financial Services. Her credentials include the passage of two securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; and the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7.
