Mitch Stillman: $500k-$1mm Complaint Against Wells Fargo Advisor

A recent investor complaint against Scottsdale, Arizona financial advisor Mitch Stillman (CRD# 2894063) alleges that his conduct resulted in damages as high as $1 million. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker with Wells Fargo Clearing Services and an investment advisor with Wells Fargo Advisors.

Mr. Stillman’s BrokerCheck report discloses several investor complaints. The most recent, filed in December 2025, alleges that as a representative of Wells Fargo Clearing Services, he failed to meet the client’s objectives. The pending complaint alleges damages between $500,000 and $1 million.

An earlier investor complaint, filed in 2008, alleged that as a representative of Wachovia Securities, he failed to intervene on the customer’s accounts when they were suffering losses, despite her instructions to sell. The complaint alleged unspecified damages and was denied by the firm.

A third investor complaint, filed in 2001, alleged that as a First Union Securities representative, he should have conferred with her about purchases by her husband in a joint account. The complaint alleged damages of $93,000 and was denied by the firm.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Mitch Stillman holds 44 years of securities industry experience. Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, he has been registered as a broker with Wells Fargo Clearing Services since 1990 and an investment advisor with Wells Fargo Advisors since 2005. His registration history includes Bateman Eichler Hill Richards (1989-1990), Drexel Burnham Lambert (1988-1989), and Painewebber (1981-1988). His credentials include the passage of six securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination, or Series 65; the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Interest Rate Options Examination, or Series 5; and the National Commodity Futures Examination, or Series 3.
