Pamela Jacobs: Did Frontier Wealth Advisor Recommend GWG L Bonds?

At least one current or former customer of Frontier Wealth Strategies advisor Pamela Jacobs (CRD# 3064512) is listed in public records as a creditor for an investment in GWG Holdings L bonds and/or preferred stock. Filed with a bankruptcy court in Texas, these records describe an investment of more than $80,000. Securities and Exchange Commission records show that she is an investment advisor based in San Ramon, California.

Dallas-based alternative asset manager GWG Holdings filed for bankruptcy in 2022, while under investigation by the SEC. The company had raised more than $1 billion from investors in “GWG L bonds,” which purchased life insurance policies on the secondary market. The SEC has since charged broker-dealer firm Western International Securities and several of its representatives in connection with their sales of GWG L bonds. As the prospectus for these products explained, they were risky products that involved the possibility of investors losing their entire investment. If your financial advisor unsuitably recommended investments in GWG Holdings L bonds and/or preferred stock, they may be liable for damages.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and the Securities and Exchange Commission, Pamela Jacobs holds 22 years of securities industry experience. Based in San Ramon, California, she has been an investment advisor with Frontier Wealth Strategies since 2017. Her past registrations include Whitehall-Parker Securities (San Rafael, California; 2017-2021), Institute for Wealth Advisors (Dublin, California; 2017), Concert Wealth Management (Dublin, California; 2016-2017), Sowell Management Services (Dublin, California; 2016-2017), Wells Fargo Advisors (Walnut Creek, California; 2013-2016), and Edward Jones (Sonoma, California; 2001-2013). Her credentials include the passage of five securities industry qualifying exams: the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Representative Examination, or Series 6TO; the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63; and the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66. She is licensed in California. (Information current as of June 23, 2023.)
