Ray DeWitt: Realta Advisor Faces Investor Complaint

Murray, Utah financial advisor Ray DeWitt (CRD# 2894063) allegedly violated federal securities law, according to a recent investor complaint. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker with Realta Equities and an investment advisor with both Realta Investment Advisors and Transce3nd, doing business as 1031 DST Group.

Mr. DeWitt’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in October 2025, it alleges that as a representative of Concorde Investment Services, he failed to conduct reasonable due diligence, violated state and federal securities law, breached contract, acted negligently, and breached his fiduciary duty. The pending complaint alleges unspecified damages.

Investors should be aware that the fiduciary standard requires financial advisors like Mr. DeWitt to place their clients’ interests above their own, make full disclosures regarding any conflicts of interest, and operate in good faith and with loyalty to the customer. This is similar to but distinct from the suitability standard that requires brokers to recommend only investments that are appropriate for their client’s background and objectives. Representatives who breach their fiduciary duty may be held liable for damages and/or subject to disciplinary action by FINRA, the SEC, or state securities regulators.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Ray DeWitt holds 26 years of securities industry experience. Based in Murray, Utah, he has been registered as a broker with Realta Equities since 2023, an investment advisor with Realta Equities since 2025, and an investment advisor with Transce3nd since 2024, doing business as 1031 DST Group. His past registrations include Bangerter Financial Services, Concorde Asset Management, Concorde Investment Services, SPC, Sigma Financial Corporation, US Bancorp Investments, Ameriprise Financial Services, Waddell & Reed, the ON Equity Sales Company, AG Edwards & Sons, Investors Capital Corporation, Raymond James Financial Services, Locust Street Securities, Pacific Harbor Securities, and WMA Securities. His credentials include the passage of six securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination, or Series 65; the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Representative Examination, or Series 6; and the Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Principal Examination, or Series 26.
