Robert DeChick: Courtland/Walker Advisor Faces Suitability Complaints

A recent investor complaint against Clemont, Florida financial advisor Robert DeChick (CRD# 4152582) alleges that he recommended unsuitable investments. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with DH Hill, doing business as Courtland/Walker Financial Group.

MR. DeChick’s BroekrCheck report discloses multiple investor complaints. The most recent, filed in October 2024, alleges that as a representative of DH Hill Securities, he misrepresented and recommended an unsuitable investment in asset-backed debt. The pending complaint alleges damages of $25,000.

In a statement included with the complaint’s disclosure, DH Hill denies the allegations. “All investments were completely suitable based on information provided by the client,” the statement explains, “and the material risks and features of the investments were fully and accurately disclosed to the client.”

An earlier investor complaint, filed in 2023, alleged that as a DH Hill Securities representative, he misrepresented material facts, acted negligently, and made unsuitable investment recommendations. In 2024 the complaint reached a settlement of $21,000.

A third investor complaint, filed in 2023, alleged that as a DH Hill representative, he recommended an unsuitable real estate investment. The complaint reached a settlement of $10,000.

A fourth investor complaint, filed in 2023, alleged that as a DH Hill representative, he made unsuitable recommendations and over-concentrated the customers’ accounts in non-liquid investments. In 2024 the complaint reached a settlement of $190,000.

A fifth investor complaint, filed in 2022, alleged that he committed fraud, violated state securities laws, and breached contract. In 2023 the complaint reached a settlement of $13,500.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Robert DeChick holds 18 years of securities industry experience. Based in Clemont, Florida, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with DH Hill since 2009 and 2012, respectively, doing business as Courtland/Walker Financial Group.
