Ferguson Financial’s Rodney Ferguson: Complaints Allege $530K Losses

Recent investor complaints against Chesterfield, Missouri financial advisor Rodney Ferguson (CRD# 2482868) allege that his conduct resulted in six-figure damages. Records provided by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority show that he is currently registered as a broker with NYLife Securities and an investment advisor with Eagle Strategies, doing business as Ferguson Financial Group.

Mr. Ferguson’s BrokerCheck report discloses nine settled or pending investor complaints. The most recent four, filed in March 2023, allege conduct including the recommendation of unsuitable investments and the sale of redundant insurance policies and annuities. The pending complaints allege cumulative damages of $530,000.

An earlier investor complaint, filed in 2020, alleged that as a representative of NYLife Securities, he recommended an unsuitable transaction. The complaint reached a settlement of $50,000.

A sixth investor complaint, filed in 2017, alleged that he made an unsuitable annuity transaction while at NYLife Securities. The complaint reached a settlement of $38,670.11.

A seventh investor complaint, filed in 2012, alleged he provided incorrect or incomplete information regarding a 401K plan. In 2013 the complaint reached a settlement of $32,411.12.

An eight investor complaint, filed in 2009, alleged that he failed to follow the customer’s request to stop the premiums on a variable life policies and to put funds into a certain account. The complaint reached a settlement of $29,292.

A ninth investor complaint, filed in 1997, alleged that he recommended an unsuitable insurance product. In 2000 the complaint reached a settlement of $90,000.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Rodney Ferguson holds 28 years of securities industry experience. Based in Chesterfield, Missouri, he has been registered as a broker with NYLife Securities and an investment advisor with Eagle Strategies since 2000, doing business as Ferguson Financial Group. He is also registered in Sarasota, Florida and Farmville, Virginia. His past registrations include PFIC Securities Corporation (Franklin, Tennessee; 2000), Magna Investments (St. Louis, Misouri; 1998-2000), and Cigna Financial Advisors (Radnor, Pennsylvania; 1994-1998). His credentials include the passage of five securities industry qualifying exams: the Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Representative Examination, or Series 6; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63; and the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination, or Series 65.
