Former Savannah, Georgia financial advisor Ryan Murphy (CRD# 4332032) has received multiple investor complaints alleging that his advice resulted in damages. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he was most recently as a broker with Truist Investment Services and has been barred from associating with any broker-dealer firm.
Mr. Murphy’s BrokerCheck report discloses five investor complaints. Three of the most recent, filed in December 2025, all allege that as a representative of Truist Investment Services, he recommended “risk-free real estate investments that offered a guaranteed return at a much higher rate of return.” All three complaints are still pending and allege unspecified damages of at least $5,000.
A third investor complaint, also filed in December 2025, alleges that Truist Investment Services failed to perform its duties as an administrator and trustee, resulting in “significant harm in the form of diminished asset values, adverse tax consequences, and lost investment opportunities.”
A fifth investor complaint, filed in January 2025, alleged that as a Truist representative, he misappropriated funds, falsified documents, and overstated account values. The pending complaint alleges unspecified damages.
A sixth disclosure on Mr. Murphy’s BrokerCheck report concerns a FINRA disciplinary action against him. Filed in 2024, it describes allegations that he refused to provide documents and appear for on-the-record testimony requested as part of FINRA’s investigation into his termination from Truist Investment Services. As a result of its findings, FINRA permanently barred him from associating with any member firm.
A seventh disclosure concerns his termination from Truist Investment Services. Filed in 2024, states that the firm fired him in connection with allegations that he gave an inaccurate consolidated statement to a customer through an “unapproved, off channel device,” and further that he “attempted to personally cover past due safe deposit box fees for a client.”
According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Ryan Murphy holds 23 years of securities industry experience. Most recently based in Savannah, Georgia, he was last registered as a broker with Truist Investment Services from 2006 until 2024. He was previously registered with Citigroup Global Markets from 2001 until 2006.
