Scott Gregory: Saxony Advisor Fired by Benjamin F. Edwards & Company

Decatur, Illinois financial advisor Scott Gregory (CRD# 4426847) was fired from his former member firm in connection with alleged misconduct. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that the former Benjamin F. Edwards & Company representative is currently registered as a broker with Saxony Securities.

Mr. Gregory’s BrokerCheck report discloses his termination from Benjamin F. Edwards & Company. Filed in November 2025, the disclosure states that the firm fired him in connection with “Lost confidence… following firm’s receipt of customer complaint.

A second disclosure on his BrokerCheck report concerns an investor complaint against him. Filed in November 2025, it alleged that as a representative of Benjamin F. Edwards & Company, he made options trades and a mutual fund sale without consent. The complaint reached a settlement of $42,380.72.

For reference, the execution of unauthorized transactions may violate FINRA Rule 3260, which establishes specific conditions in which brokers like Mr. Gregory may conduct trading without first consulting their client. Unauthorized trading may also violate FINRA Rule 2010, which stipulates that brokers must “observe high standards of commercial honor and just and equitable principles of trade.” A third important rule investors should be aware of is FINRA Rule 2020, which states that no broker may “effect any transaction in, or induce the purchase or sale of, any security by means of any manipulative, deceptive or other fraudulent device or contrivance.” Brokers who executed unauthorized trades may be held liable for damages and/or subject to disciplinary action.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Scott Gregory holds 24 years of securities industry experience. Based in Decatur, Illinois, she has been registered as a broker with Saxony Securities since February 2026. Her past registrations include Benjamin F. Edwards & Company, Investment Planners, IPI Wealth Management, Private Client Services, Miller Wealth Management, Wells Fargo Clearing Services, AG Edwards & Sons, and Woodbury Financial Services. Her credentials include the passage of five securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66; the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Representative Examination, or Series 6.
