Scott Grove: MassMutual Advisor Faces Investor Complaint

Newport Beach, California financial advisor Scott Grove (CRD# 2813738) recently received an investor complaint alleging that his conduct resulted in damages. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with MML Investors Services, also known as MassMutual.

Mr. Grove’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in March 2025, it alleges that as a representative of MassMutual, he recommended a financial plan “that included a series of phony investment schemes and tax benefits,” including investments in RX3 Investment Fund, Mobile Home Direct, Calibrate Ventures, and True North Resources. The pending complaint alleges unspecified damages.

MassMutual’s website includes a section in which Mr. Grove describes how he works with his clients. “I work with independent brokers to help solve their clients’ financial needs with the MassMutual product portfolio,” he explains. “If you’re interested in offering MassMutual products, you can expect one-on-one support for your clients’ protection and accumulation needs.”

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Scott Grove holds 28 years of securities industry experience. Based in Newport Beach, California, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with MML Investors Services, also known as MassMutual, since 2002 and 2021, respectively. Locust Street Securities (1996-2002). His credentials include the passage of seven securities industry qualifying exams: the Limited Representative-Private Securities Offerings, or Series 82TO; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7TO; the General Securities Principal Examination, or Series 24; the Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Representative Examination, or Series 6; the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66; and the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63.
