A recent investor complaint against San Diego, California financial advisor Tamara Galchenko Huey (CRD# 2174723) alleges that her advice resulted in damages. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that she is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Ameriprise Financial Services.

Ms. Galchenko Huey’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in December 2025, it alleges that as a representative of Ameriprise Financial Services, he recommended an unsuitable micro-strategy stock investment. The pending complaint alleges $99,000 in damages.

FINRA Rule 2010 requires that persons associated with FINRA “observe high standards of commercial honor and just and equitable principles of trade.” Many forms of unethical conduct, such as failure to follow a customer’s directions, constitute violations of FINRA Rule 2010, provided the activities occur “in the conduct of [the member’s] business.” FINRA Rule 2111, similarly, states that brokers must “have a reasonable basis to believe that a recommended transaction or investment strategy involving a security or securities is suitable for the customer, based on the information obtained through the reasonable diligence of the member or associated person to ascertain the customer’s investment profile.” More information on these rules is available via FINRA.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Tamara Galchenko Huey holds 33 years of securities industry experience. Based in San Diego, California, she has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Ameriprise Financial Services since 1999. Her past registrations include IDS Life Insurance Company (Minneapolis, Minnesota; 1999-2006); Wells Fargo Securities (San Francisco, California; 1995-1998), and Thomas James Associates (Rochester, New York; 1991-1995). Her credentials include the passage of four securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination, or Series 65; the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7. She holds 24 state licenses. (Information current as of January 11, 2026.)
