A new investor complaint involving Beavercreek, Ohio financial advisor Todd Nuss (CRD# 5288692) alleges eight-figure damages. Records provided by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority show that he is a broker and an investment advisor with Morgan Stanley, where, the firm’s website notes, he is part of The Hale Group.
Pending Complaint Alleges Unsuitable Strategy
Mr. Nuss’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in October 2022, it alleges that a recommendation for a pension plan to use “an outside money manager who failed to implement a liability-driven investment strategy with short term duration” was not suitable. The pending complaint alleges damages of $10 million.
The Hale Group at Morgan Stanley
His firm’s website indicates that Mr. Nuss is a member of The Hale Group at Morgan Stanley. According to a description on the group’s profile, it is a provider of “customized wealth management solutions to a select group of high net worth families, individuals, and businesses.” Its services include wealth management, retirement planning, estate planning, sustainable investing, philanthropic services, and trust accounts. “The group strives to support your financial journey to and through retirement,” it explains. “Utilizing Morgan Stanley’s vast resources and product specialists, the team provides insightful guidance on retirement and estate planning, business succession, insurance and investment management.”

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Todd Nuss has spent 15 years working as a broker. His first registration was with Citigroup Global Markets, whose Dayton, Ohio office he joined in 2007. In 2009 he transitioned to Morgan Stanley’s office in Beavercreek, Ohio. He has passed three securities industry qualifying exams and holds 30 state licenses, including Alabama, Colorado, Georgia, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
