FINRA Bars Boca Raton Advisor Wilfred Rodriguez

A disciplinary action taken by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority against former Boca Raton, Florida broker and investment advisor Wilfred Rodriguez (CRD# 2504369) barred him after finding he failed to cooperate with an investigation into allegations he converted customers’ funds and concealed his activities by falsifying account documents. A former representative of Wells Fargo Clearing Services, Rodriguez was barred from acting as a broker or otherwise associating with a broker-dealer firm.

According to a Letter of Acceptance, Waiver and Consent (No. 2018059379401) dated October 2018, FINRA sent Wilfred Rodriguez a request for documents and information on August 20, 2018 in connection with its investigation into allegations he converted foreign clients’ funds and “provided falsified account statements with inflated account values” to those customers. According to FINRA, he failed to comply with the request by the requested date, September 19, 2018. FINRA sent a second request on September 20, 2018, requesting production by September 28, 2018. Rodriguez indicated via email on September 26, 2018, that he had received the request, and on the following day his counsel informed FINRA that Rodriguez “would not produce the requested documents and information.” FINRA found that this refusal constituted violations of FINRA Rules 8210, which states in part that FINRA may require associated persons to provide information connected to its investigations, and 2010, which concerns high standards of commercial honor. As a result of the foregoing alleged conduct, he was barred from association with any FINRA member in all capacities.

Wilfred Rodriguez is currently not registered as a broker or investment adviser. His employment history includes Wells Fargo Clearing Services in Boca Raton, Florida; Prudential Securities in New York, New York; UBS Painewebber in Weehawken, New Jersey; Citicorp Investment Services in Long Island City, New York; Great Western Financial Securities Corporation in Northridge, California; Euro-Atlantic Securities in Boca Raton, Florida; and Biltmore Securities in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He currently holds zero state licenses and has passed three securities industry qualification examinations.
