Investors Allege Misconduct by Los Angeles Broker Tony Barouti

Investor complaints against Los Angeles broker Tony Barouti (CRD# 3031995) allege more than $1.5 million in damages. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is a representative of Barouti Financial, offering securities through Emerson Equity.

The most recent investor complaint against Mr. Barouti was filed in April 2022. It alleges that as a representative of Emerson Equity, he breached his fiduciary duty, made negligent misrepresentations, breached contract, and over-concentrated investments in the account. The pending complaint alleges damages of $185,000. In a statement on the disclosure, he describes the allegations as “false.”

An earlier investor complaint, filed in March 2022, alleges he failed to fully and fairly disclose “all material facts, risks, and speculative nature” associated with a corporate bond investment. The pending complaint alleges damages of $1,270,000.

A third complaint, filed in March 2022, similarly alleges that Mr. Barouti failed to fully and fairly disclose the material facts and risks associated with a corporate bond investment. The pending complaint alleges damages of $100,000.

Based in Los Angeles, California, he is a representative of Barouti Financial, offering securities through Emerson Equity. He has been registered with Emerson Equity since 2017. His past registrations include First Heartland Capital (Los Angeles, California; 2014-2017), LPL Financial (Los Angeles, California; 2011-2014), Newport Coast Securities (2007-2011), Commonwealth Financial Network (Los Angeles, California; 2007), Brookstreet Securities Corporation (Newport Beach, California; 2006-2007), Jefferson Pilot Securities (Fort Wayne, Indiana; 2004-2005), Linsco/Private Ledger Corp.
